Lopees – Organic Cotton Reusable Envelopes

Lopees Reusable envelopesLopees are Environmentally Friendly Reusable Envelopes made from Organic Cotton by Fair Trade Company in India. They provide an ingenious, cost-effective alternative for your home or business by removing the use of internal and external paper envelopes and waste disposal. Lopees were recently awarded an Australian Business Award in 2009 for ‘Best Eco-Friendly Product’.

The Lopees product range can be used at home, schools, sporting clubs, childcare centres, pre-schools and businesses of all shapes and sizes and can be tailored to suit any requirement. Ranging from our envelope size Lopees to A4 and A3 Internal mail system Library bags, DL and Portfolio.

Lopees have a passion for protecting the environment and our product gives schools, businesses, banks, sporting clubs and other community organisations the opportunity of spreading this message. Our aim is to educate the next generation on sustainability and ways we can help to save our planet. As a community here is our chance to put the message into practice and contribute to saving the environment for future genrations to come.

Lopees evolved because we as parents were constantly looking for envelopes for payments for school activities. Realizing this adds to more waste paper in our school the idea of the reusable envelope evolved.

Lopees envelope production - Fair Trade India

Lopees reduces the need to use paper products, so we are effectively saving our diminishing forests. Your school or business will benefit from the savings in buying paper envelopes for internal and external mail use and in waste paper disposal costs. In a school environment Lopees will pay for itself within the first year as on average child will use approx. 100 envelopes per year. The cost of the envelopes exceeds the cost of the Lopees reusable envelope which can be used by the child year after year.

Our reusable envelope is made from organic cotton grown in India, free from pesticides and chemicals, which further helps the environment. Our supplier in India makes our product to our design and only for our company. Our manufacture has retrained men and women from 20 – 40 year olds who have suffered hardship. Our supplier uses a Fair Trade System one of the only ones in India. The worker through to exporter, shares in the proceeds. Not only are we helping to protect the environment we are also giving the workers employed to make our Lopees a better standard of living for themselves and their community.

Making Good Choices About Fair Trade

Making Good Choices about Fair Trade

Making Good Choices about Fair Trade

By Paula Johanson – September 2009

All people want their time and effort to be valued. Anyone wants to trade his or her time and effort for fair value. That’s what fair trade is about–making fair deals locally, nationally, and internationally.

This compelling book engages students in the issues of fair trade, helping them to make greener choices to support the ecology and sustain the environment and communities of people. Readers learn about fair business standards and about the ways they can support fair trade, not only in the products that they purchase but in fair trade ideas that can help communities and nations. In this book, students discover that a business that relies on fair trade will earn reliable profits over a longer time than one that serves only its own interests. They will also learn how just one person can make a difference in fair trade practices.
