Fair Trade Festival – Victoria

Queen Victoria Market will be hosting the 2010 Victoria Fair Trade Festival on Sunday 16 May between10.00am – 4.00pm – Queen Street Melbourne.

There will be 27 stalls with a great selection of Fairtrade Certified products plus a variety of Fair Trade clothing and arts & crafts will be available on the day. Plus to add to the excitement, an entertainment zone with live local and cultural music and dance will be played throughout the day.

Celebration of all things Fair Trade – Fair Trade High Tea

The key Queensland event for the Fair Trade Fortnight 2010, Australia and New Zealand’s biggest celebration of all things fair trade. Enjoy delicious finger food, including cakes, scones, and sandwiches, accompanied by Fair Trade coffee and tea during this inspirational afternoon, with a glass of champagne on arrival.

Featuring International Guest Speaker, Kohinoor Yeasmin, CEO of Bangladesh fair trade organisation Tarango, and an Ethical Fashion Showcase. Kohinoor will be speaking on her personal experiences and the positive impact of fair trade on her country and the people in Bangladesh. Her work with some of the most marginalised women in the country has had considerable impact, giving many women their chance at independence and an education.

The Fair Trade High Tea will be held at the Arts Centre, overlooking the Brisbane River, St Margaret’s Anglican Girls’ School, Ascot on Saturday 8 May 2010, between 2 and 4pm.
